blogging December 30th, 2008

To post all the things I’ve been meaning to post this year.  I easily have a backlog of about 30ish posts just rattling around in my head.  Just think of all the space I’ll leave for more meaningful babble when I finally get them out.

I will list a few of the topics here as to help myself remember:

  • my St. Louis trip
  • Firecracker Press (this was on the St. Louis trip, but needs it’s own post)
  • a trackback post rebutting some comments another blog made about “being skinny” (ya that’ll be a gem - we all know how much I <3 skinny bitches)
  • the city vs. the suburbs
  • random thoughts I’ve been keeping a list of

And one I already posted, but on another blog

I </3 IE

That’s right, I was published on another blog, and not just any blog - the most awesomest blog ever made.  At some point in my life I need to know if The Hater is hot.

PS: right now I’m listening to a cd my 9 year old got for Christmas - I’m totally getting old.

PSS: I’m updating the music link on the site today for those of you who dig my tunes. (the jimmy eat world is especially good)

PSSS: web geeks: why is the script over here (on the right) that displays my categories auto opening when I have it set to be closed on page load?

I’ve been racking my brain (and google) for weeks now, trying to figure out a way to send pictures from my phone to the blog.  (Of course by racking I mean that I furiously tried to figure out a way to do it for about an hour one time, then gave up and forgot about it.)

Anyhow, today I was needlessly on twitter, and saw a picture tweet from Julie at wine me, dine me.  She had twittered a phone pic… which got me to thinking, if I can get my regular tweets to show up on the blog as a feed then why can’t I get phone pic tweets to show up on the blog as a feed….

And voila!

It’s called twitpic by the way.  I am a never ending vessel of knowledge (or bullshit, I haven’t really decided).

A few random things people I like have thrown my way as of late…

Firstly - all you bloggers out there, this is a great little read that my BFF threw at me a few days ago.

Friday’s are my 10 hour day at work (for those of you playing along, that’s today) … some Friday’s I’m busy and some Friday’s I’m not.  On the ‘not’ days, I get to work on my blog.  (I <3 big companies that waste money on me)  So far, today is a ‘not’ day and I’ve started working on the 101 Ways to Become a Better Blogger.  (you can download it for yourself at that linky)

I’m not much for being a big-to-do blogger, but I know a lot of you are.  I am more interested in learning HOW to be a big-to-do blogger, so I can charge all you big-to-do bloggers for me to help you be one.  (Dolla dolla billz yo)

One of the first things the ultimate geek girl suggests in her free e-bookis to check your stats on I know, right. I\'m popularpopuri.us and take a screen shot to compare to later on.  Since I recently moved over to this new site (spotoft.com) I decided it would be an interesting experiment!  So, here goes…

Yes I know, IMPRESSIVE!  So, I’ve started a new category where I will be posting all the interesting blogging mumbo jumbo.  For those of you who don’t know, I actually have categories for separating the content on my blog now.  Over in the sidebar (that’s over there —–>), up under the big T’s Spot are three options: my spoT, The grind and uncategorized.  The uncategorized will disappear at some point when I get around to categorizing all my posts - but until then, play around with it and you’ll get the picture.

The most badass firefox plug-in I’ve ever used.  Cooliris.  I use Google Image Searches every day, many times a day.  (that’s what designers do, we steal) So, this plug-in is one of the coolest finds ever for me.  A  friend of mine from school showed it to me last week, and I’ve been in love ever since.

Click, download, love.
